A look at the 'bigger' Toyota Prius V

SALT LAKE CITY — The 2012 Toyota Prius V is basically a bigger Prius, with beefed up suspension and a lot more room. But how is the car overall?
The Prius offers an inch more headroom and a resin panoramic roof that weighs less and insulates more than steel.
We loaded it up a couple of times on a recent move to see how much more room the Prius really has. Depending on the model, it has approximately 12 more cubic feet, but can have up to 56 more cubic feet than a standard model Prius.
The electric and gas motors together add up to 134 horsepower, which never felt inadequate hauling our stuff. But nobody speeds with their prized possessions on board.
The miles per gallon is better in stop-and-go, and with adaptive cruise control, when someone pulls in front of you passing to the right, it automatically slows you down. In moderate traffic, you can even drive with no feet on the pedals.
Take an offramp with the cruise set at 65, and it'll slow you down as long as there's someone in front of you. It will not stop you, however.
Like a Camry, the Prius V sports a backup camera, voice navigation that's good but not great, automatic A/C and a stereo system that goes to 63. Unlike a Camry, it has a fully electric mode, LED headlights and it's good option for moving day.
